Hello, and welcome to DC on the Lake’s first blog.
Our aim is to provide a fun and informative platform to bring you park news and regional events to you on a regular basis.
So, let’s bring you up to date first with our journey so far and share a little history with you.
We purchased the park in 2005, and come from an agriculture background. We have 3, now grown, children and their partners and have recently welcomed our first grandchild. It has truly been a family business with all the kids and their partners helping out at times.
We have a love of the water and boating, in particular water skiing and kayaking. The park has provided the perfect environment for a family with these interests and combine it with a “lifestyle” business.
In March 2013, the Denison County Caravan park (as it was then known) was hit by a once in lifetime tornado, which almost completely destroyed the park. Since then the park has been completely transformed into “DC on the Lake”, a luxury holiday park that boasts some of the best holiday units and most spectacular views of Lake Mulwala.
Our redevelopment is an ongoing project. We have a variety of new cabins for hire located in various places around the park, grassy powered sites and annual sites. The pool and jumping pillow are scheduled to be installed this year which will be our major project for 2016. Of course last summer we made available pedal karts & kayaks for hire.
We welcomed Jakii to our team almost 12 months ago in reception. Jeordie has been with us in a variety of positions since we reopened in 2013, Rhodesy is helping out in the grounds and Leanda and Shannon are our expert cleaning team.
There is always lots to do in our region, even over the winter months. The Clubs provide live and free entertainment most weekends and there is a choice of country football matches. Put the “Farm gate Trail” on your to do list, as well as a spot of boutique shopping in Yarrawonga’s retail sector. Or perhaps you prefer a stroll around Chinamen’s Island or Gorman Park. For those that have longer stays there are lots of interesting things to do within a day trip.
Please don’t drive past, call in and experience our beautiful park for yourself.
We would love to meet you. Deb & Craig
